Following up on an album such as Poop Track would have been a daunting task for even the most established of acts, but it was a challenge the members of Clinchpoop met head-on. Surprising the world by releasing a brand new single, accompanied by three additional never-before-heard tracks, Clinchpoop achieved the impossible with their chillingly minimal instrumental masterpiece, Carnival. With only one vocal track on the entire album, the clinching trio were ready, willing and visibly able to explore new ground just months after breaking into the spotlight. Critically acclaimed even before its release, the album represented the strongest media push the band would ever enjoy. The single was heavily promoted by OEO International, but the radio stations of the day just weren't ready to accept the kind of musical evolution the new tracks represented. As DJs focused more and more on pre-fabricated acts like The Spin Doctors, Boyz 2 Men and C&C Music Factory, genuine musical talents like Clinchpoop were overlooked on more than one occasion. The single failed to take off, and OEO's faith in the band slowly began to decay.
