One of the many cityscape recreations in the Legoland archives. I'm guessing this was New York City, though I've never seen the real thing. Yeah, that's a Lego Chrysler Building.. so this is New York. These things were complete with a tiny yellow population, magnetically moving cars and billboards. The tallest tower stood something like 4 or 5 feet, and probably even swayed a little every time a stiff breeze came by. The mini Wall Street section was notably missing the occasional jumper.

ON THE LEFT: Link one will tell you a bit of lovin' goodness about that crap-tacular blockbuster, Independence Day, starring Bill Pullman. You know if the movie stars Big Bill, it's gotta be good. Click the real Chrysler Building to learn a little more about it. Scary how similar it looks to the lego interpretation. That last picture is the cover to U2's early 90s album, Achtung Baby. I butchered a line from it near the top of this page. Good album. |
