I don't know that I've ever understood the medium of photography well enough to convincingly call what I've created to be art in even the loosest sense of the word. I honestly despise working in a dark room (developing, burning, dodging, accidentally screwing up a print, starting over from scratch) but I do hold a strong appreciation for the art form and anyone who's able to do it successfully. I took several semesters of photography courses throughout my college career, during which I produced most of the prints in this section, but I doubt I'll ever venture into manual photography again. I guess it's obvious that I'm much more comfortable with digital cameras... a third of the work, no chance of human error and instant results, so you know if you need to shoot again. My good friend, Joe Winchester, has probably forgotten more about photography than I'll ever know.
