Easily in the top five of my list of personal favorite pieces. I was trying my damndest to rip my old style of rendering the human body to shreds at this point, since I'd previously been so focused on becoming a comic book artist. My drawing style and interpretation of our anatomy was becoming really skewed, and it was really starting to bother me. Every time I tried to draw a person, it came out looking like a huge, buff, spandex-clad superman squinting in a mask. So I challenged myself with this print, which I think does a great job of capturing the motion, ambition and mindset of interpretive dance. I guess this was a personal success more than it was a commercial one...
